Where it began

This started with a feeling.

The kind that comes from doing something that matters – most of the time, on very little sleep.

Here at Catch & Cradle we make small, useful things that recognise that moment.

For parents. For healthcare professionals. For people who keep showing up.

This isn’t about being tired forever.

It’s about being seen right now.

You’re doing enough.

If you or someone you know is exhausted, overwhelmed and/ or quietly doing an amazing job

This is for you.

Welcome.

Who the hell is Doris?

Have you ever received unwanted comments, advice, questions, or stories from “back in my day”? You know, those judgemental looks when you’ve been out at the supermarket, the park, the hairdressers, the petrol garage and you’re desperately trying to do your best with a child in tow.

Well, Doris is that stranger you’ve wanted to scream at in public, the family member you’ve bitten your tongue for at that gathering, the  “friend” who has no children but gives an air of “I wouldn’t do it like that” or even that manager who questions your every move and has no idea what it is to work in a clinical setting on the “shop floor” (you know exactly who we are talking about!)

Doris represents every single person you’ve ever met that’s put you right on the edge of a meltdown…just when you felt you couldn’t take any more.

Here at Catch & Cradle, we try to highlight the issue of unwanted criticism, questions, judgements or what people deem as sharing “helpful” experiences through our Doris. She doesn’t always get it right, and we make sure she knows it!

Keep your eyes peeled for her throughout our website and social media.

You can be sure…she’ll pop up where she’s least welcome.

P.s – If you’ve got this far and you happen to be called Doris, our apologies but just like the Karen’s of the world, we had to come up with a name for her (she’s not actually real!)
